MUSIC NOT THE MYSTERY AT ALL
The origin of music and the next to eerie grip music has on our emotions, have puzzled music theorists, philosophers as well as street wise talented street musicians captouring their audiences. I have a clue expanation on this. A new theory. Follow this thread evolving I will give give you the answer to why music captivates us to the degree of madness.
Music and it’s true mystery thus divide into two questions; the origin of music, and the reign it has over our emotions.
I start in the evening mists at the savanna of early man. Dawn is closing, sky is almost black. Stars are now the arc of the scene. Huddling around a camp good fire a tribe, say twenty, surrunded by them well known beasty animals. The animal flock closes in growling drewling, hyeanas perhaps, individuals racing fourth and back again. A situation of life and death. The tribe has though an ace up their sleeve, the choir singing about loud, the New Zeeland hakka. Forming their bodies close to each other, stamping the ground, a new huge animal becomes the dominant the scene. Together with stones and firery logs and branches thrown, the threat is warded off.
A mother lull her infant to sleep. No language needed. Music is the voice of softness.
Culture had the stones more and more shaped into sofisticated second hand tools, the shelter, the axe, the arrow, but when someone struck a string, or someone blew a whistle out of hollowed out bone, a sudden sound from the deads or the cosmos caught the attention. Music was borned.
Music has an explanation. And it’s within us.
Music is a choire sung together with the brain.
